Athletes like Lebron James, Kevin Love and Draymond Green are new investors in the Major League Pickleball enterprise. They join the ranks of other well known team owners such as Drew Brees, Gary Vanyerchuk, Brene Brown and James Blake to name a few.

James and Carter will own the team through their business LRMR Ventures teaming up with investors SC Holdings, CMO Paul Rivera with SpringHill Co, and Relevent Sports Group co-owner and CEO Daniel Sillman.

Currently there are 12 teams expanding to 16 teams come 2023 due to high interest in new team ownership. MLP in 2023 will expand from three events in three cities to six events in six cities across the U.S with players vying for $2 million dollars in prize money.

"Having SC Holdings, LRMR Ventures, and their incredible group as owners and investors in Major League Pickleball is not just great for MLP, it's a watershed moment for pickleball in general," MLP founder Steve Kuhn said.
